Enter the mind of an obsessive compulsive, anal retentive women in the city. She's turning 30, has a pantry and an uncontrollable need to feed everyone she meets.
My electricity bill is insane! And I haven't used my air conditioners yet!

We put up an air conditioner last night. The behemoth model in the living room will have to wait until my hubby's buddies can assist.
We spent the night in the bedroom.
We may be spending more summer nights in the bedroom.

We haven't had an electric bill in over 5 years. At this new apartment, we almost had a heart attack looking at the electric bill for last month.
Everything in our place has a dimmer. I turn everything off and leave the hallway light on the lowest dim setting possible. Yet our bill is still over $100.
I am even thinking about putting tealights all over to provide added lighting. Forget the romantic aspect of candles. Thom from Queer Eye knows the price of electricity in the city. I swear, I may have to ban reading after nightfall to save on wattage.

I think that I am probably the only person not complaining about rising electricity costs. Well, not yet anyway. See, I live in this building where your hydro bill is dictated by the average monthly bill of the previous year. It's not that I conserve like crazy, more like I am hardly home to use what electricity is needed for the average person. My bill has decreased each year, and so far, pay 22 dollars less a year than when I first moved in.
But I may have to stop patting myself on the back. I am caving in, and instead of spending most summers at other friends' places that are airconditioned, am going to buy one for myself.... I refuse to lose weight only because I spent the majority of the summer sweating most of my butt off.
I love your blog.
